In-house pathology
Advanced laboratory, on site
Hormone Clinic has an in-house pathology laboratory with advanced analysers. Many hormone and metabolic tests are done on site, under the supervision of Dr. Harshal Kakade, so consultation and laboratory work stay coordinated.

Testing guidelines for patients
Fasting blood sugar / glucose
Do I need to fast before a blood sugar test?
Usually 8–10 hours fasting. Water is generally allowed. Do not take morning medicines unless your doctor said otherwise.
Lipid profile
How long should I fast before a lipid profile test?
Typically 10–12 hours fasting. Avoid heavy fatty meals the evening before.
Thyroid profile (TSH, T3, T4, Free T3/T4)
Do I need to fast before a thyroid test?
Fasting is usually not required. Morning collection is preferred.
HbA1c
Is fasting required for an HbA1c test?
No fasting required. Can be done along with other non-fasting tests.
Cortisol
What time should a cortisol sample be taken?
Often timed (commonly morning). Follow the exact time written on your requisition — timing affects interpretation.
Prolactin
How should I prepare for a prolactin test?
Preferably morning sample after resting quietly for a short period. Avoid stress, vigorous exercise, and nipple stimulation before the test.
Insulin / C-peptide
Do I need to fast for an insulin or C-peptide test?
Usually fasting, as advised on the slip. Follow the same timing as your glucose sample if both are ordered.
Vitamin B12 / Vitamin D
Is fasting needed for a vitamin B12 or vitamin D test?
Fasting is often not mandatory; follow the requisition if a fasting panel is combined.
PTH, calcium, phosphorus
How should I prepare for PTH, calcium, and phosphorus tests?
Follow fasting instructions on the slip if combined with other metabolic tests. Mention calcium / vitamin D supplements at the counter.
